YOUR BALLOT

HOW TO SUBMIT WRITE-IN AND ABSENTEE BALLOTS IN MICHIGAN

For voters in Michigan, casting a Write-In vote is straightforward but important to do correctly.

HERE ARE THE STEPS

1. When filling out your ballot, go to the section for the position for which you're writing in a candidate.

2. Find the blank space

3. Write the full name of the candidate you are supporting in the space provided. While the spelling of names is important, it is judged valid by voter intent.

If those reading the ballots can clearly understand the intent of the name written, the vote is awarded to the candidate.

4. Be sure to fill in the bubble next to the name, as this ensures your vote is counted.

By following these steps, we can make sure every vote counts, even for those candidates who are not preprinted on the ballot. This election represents our chance to continue the positive work these individuals have started in our community.

OTHER VOTING OPTIONS

ABSENTEE BALLOTS CAN BE EASILY REQUESTED HERE

Once received, the ballot can be voted, and:

  1. Dropped at the Township Office Monday – Thursday (7:30-Noon, or 1 pm-5:30)

   2.  Dropped in a Township Office Drop Box (24 hours)

   3.  Be brought in to Early Voting and Tabulated, or

   4.  Brought with you to the polls on Election Day and Tabulated

You can request a ballot for individual elections, or you can now opt to receive a ballot for every election by being added to the Permanent Ballot List. Keep in mind that election mail is not forwarded by the Post Office. You will need to update your address if you will be out of town at election time. Ballots are typically available 40 days before the election.
